Annmarie can offer a variety of workshops to existing studios or agencies.



Jewellery Making Workshop

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Learn how to make fantastic jewellery by using found objects to produce stunning pieces.

In these workshops you will learn:

  •      How to select the right combination of objects
  •       How to use and mix glass paint
  •       How to use found objects such as buttons and bits of broken jewellery to produce fantastic pieces
  •       How to use detail to finish your object to make a piece unique to you
  •       Learning to use Diocroic Glass 

 

 

 

 

You will need to bring found objects...these can be purchased from charity shops, the pound shop or just be broken bits of jewellery and buttons. Gears from watches and clocks can be the beginnings of excellent Steampunk jewellery.

Glass Painting / Decorative Ceramics Workshop

 

 


 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Learn how to revamp thrift shop glassware by using paint and found objects to produce stunning pieces of objet d’art.

In these workshops you will learn:

  • How to prepare a glass object for painting
  • How to use and mix glass paint
  • How to use found objects such as buttons and bits of jewellery to enhance your object
  • How to use detail to finish your object to make a piece unique to you

You will need to bring a glass object...these can be purchased from charity shops, the pound shop or ikea, and found objects if you wish to use them.

These lovely works of art can be for your pleasure or sold on ... for example five vases bought for £1 each raised £750 for the Whoopsadaisy charity using this method.

During this time you will also learn how to fire decals onto ceramic mugs using the paragon kiln (when your work is fired and cooled you can pick it up)

For this you will also need to bring with you a new white mug, these can be bought from Tesco or Asda.

In these workshops you will learn:

  • How to use colour
  • How to use and mix paint
  • Colour combinations and symbolism throughout history
  • How to use detail and shading

You will need to bring a canvas (any size), these can be purchased from any local art store or The Works.

Learn to use your emotions as a tool for painting.

By using a combination of meditation and focusing on powerful trigger words such as love, pain, war, etc., you will be asked to unlock your inner emotions and free them.

In these workshops you will learn:

  • How to use colour and ink to express mood
  • Have the confidence to express imagination and energy
  • How to use mark-making to make a statement

You will need to bring 2 canvases (any size), these can be purchased from any store or The Works.

Therapeutic Painting For Mental Health, Challenging Behaviour, referral basis.


 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Workshops for anyone with mental health issues.

Annmarie Hughes as an artist has both worked with those with severe mental health issues and also suffered herself with grief related depression.

She uses art as an outlet for her emotions and as a tool for better health.

Annmarie Hughes has worked in mental health support since 2009 and also has substance misuse training, arts and youth inclusion training and has worked with offenders and young offenders.

In these workshops you will learn:

  • How to use colour and ink to express mood
  • Have the confidence to express imagination and energy
  • How to use mark-making to make a statement

These workshops will be a chance for clients to explore their emotions and triggers as well as have a friendly ear to talk to whilst just painting for fun.

Clients will need to bring 2 canvases (any size), these can be purchased from any store or The Works.

Fees for this specialist workshop to be negotiated.

There will be separate fees for ILA funded clients / Funding bodies / council childrens and teenage services / Schools.

Fees to be negotiated with funders or with those who refer clients.

If any referrer has a client that wishes to partake in any of the workshops offered or If extended schools programmes/schools/parents are interested in any workshops please message me at annie@annmariehughes.net to express interest.

There will be concession for those under 18 yrs old or classed as vulnerable.
